RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COOKING AND MENTAL HEALTH
For some cooking is a daily core, a social experience or a leisure activity, but it can be a therapeutic experience too. In recent years, health care clinics and therapists have begun using cooking as a tool to help patient's combat depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. Culinary therapy, which is similar to other creative therapy techniques like music therapy and general art therapy, takes the 'food as medicine' approach to self-care very literally.
The activity is divided into 4 section where first activity is based on the research study; Relationship between Cooking and Mental Health And the second section is based on the documentation report of the study. The study on eminent personalities in the cooking profession is the third activity done and the final activity is to develop an e-content on relationship between cooking and mental health.
Activity-1:-
A Study on the Relationship between Cooking and Mental Health
The first activity is based on the research study on the relationship between cooking and mental health. The article chosen was "Kitchen Therapy: Cooking up mental well being", was published on 19th May 2015 at www.psychology.com. It is the work of Linda Wasmer Andrews, a psychologist, and a writer. The theme meant that cooking mental meal nourishes your mind and feeds your soul. It is more like a personal experience where she describes about her daily routine connected with cooking. Cooking is a nourishing, centered act that makes a person slow down and focus. Even if it is a basic skill for daily living, many people don't feel comfortable and think it as another burden. But nowadays cooking is used as a therapeutic experience in many peoples life.
From the article, it is evident that cooking is very much helpful to mental health. The article explained the matter through different stages. Whoever engaged in cooking must know that how many ways it satisfy them in person. Researches have already proven how much cooking benefits in the psychological aspects of humans and indeed we are experiencing the same.

Sanjeev Kapoor
Sanjeev Kapoor is an Indian celebrity chef, entrepreneur, writer and television personality. Kapoor stars in the TV show Khanna Khazana, which is the longest running show of its kind in Asia; it broadcasts in 120 countries and in 2010 had more than 500 million viewers.He also launched his own Food channel, in January 2011. Kapoor was born in Ambala, Haryana and spent most of his childhood in New Delhi. He started in the hospitality industry in 1984 with a Diploma in Hotel Management from the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) Pusa, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, New Delhi.
Vikas Khanna
Vikas Khanna (born 14 November 1971) is an award-winning Michelin starred Indian Chef, restaurateur, and cookbook writer, filmmaker, humanitarian and the judge of many cooking shows. Khanna was born in Amritsar, India to Davinder and Bindu Khanna. He was born with misaligned feet and wasn't able to run until he was 13. He was inspired by his grandmother who loved to cook, and her kitchen became a part of his foundational training. Khanna began developing recipes at a very young age and started to host functions when he was 17. He has worked with some of the most influential chefs of the world letting in Gordan Ramsay, Bobby Flay, Jean Georges Vongerian etc. Utsav is a 1,200-page labor of love that's taken 12 years to compile. The book is described as the "world's largest compilation of festivals, ceremonies, rituals, and foods that symbolize India and its resplendent heritage", it explores the country through a 'festival and food lens' and weaves the old world charm and traditions into the rich tapestry of the nation's culture and history.

Reflection
By doing this activity I feel satisfied in every aspect of the study objectives. It gave me a wide opportunity to know about cooking field and helped me to increase my interest and knowledge in the same. Studying about the personalities helped me to know their life experiences which were lively and inspirational. I use this opportunity to thank my teachers and friends for providing me this chance to study more about what I love to do.
