Second Phase Teaching Practice at Govt. Boys High School, Kayamkulam.

Week - 10


  • Day 47 - 21st January 2019
       Today I reached the school at 9:30am and took part in the morning assembly. 



     I did had 2 periods as per the timetable but I took extra periods for observation and chapter completion. In 9th B, I gave notes and after that took a class in 8th A on 'Natural, Man-made fibers, and Plastics' where Chitra Miss came for observation. Then I took a class in 8th B on the same topic. As usual, we served food to the children and in the afternoon session I took a class in 8th A on Thermosetting and thermoplastics'. At 4 0' clock we returned home after signing the register.

  • Day 48 - 22nd January 2019
         After reaching school, I went to the allotted room of ours. I didn't had any classes as per the timetable, hence I stayed in the room doing other works. And also got engaged with free periods. I didn't go to serve food due to some health issues. I observed Lekshmi Sabu's class on hydrochloric acid in 9th B. And at 3:35pm we signed the register and took students to a programme conducted by Kayamkulam Municipality. The programme got delayed, hence we departed from there.

  • Day 49 - 23rd January 2019
        I reached the school at 9:30 am and did had 2 periods as per the timetable. In the morning session, we assisted the teachers in selecting students for Little Kites Club.

And as usual, we served food to the children. In the afternoon I took a class in 8th.B on 'Thermosetting and thermoplastics'. Today me and Lekshmi Sabu cleaned the Chemistry laboratory. 


          At 4:00 pm we signed the register and returned home.

  • Day 50 - 24th January 2019
          After reaching the school premises, I signed the register and took part in the morning assembly.


        I had two classes as per the timetable. But due PTA meeting I couldn't take class in 9th B. And got a class in 8th A where I took a class on 'Plastic Pollution'. Today I interviewed some of the student's parents for project work and distributed the checklist to the children for collecting data. And also helped Sreelekshmi and Surya in making placards.

      In the afternoon I observed Lekshmi Sabu's class in 9th B.  In the last hour took a class in 8th B on  'Plastic Pollution' and at 4:00pm returned home after signing the register.

  • Day 51 - 25th January 2019
    Today after reaching the school, I signed the register and went to our room. I didn't had any classes as per the timetable, but teacher asked me to teach IT lab to 9th Standard students in the first two periods, after that I revised the Chemistry portions for 8th B students in 3rd and 4th  period. In the 5th period, I revised the Physics portions to 9.B students. Then in the 6th hour took a class on Alcoholism in 8th A as a part of Health Education.

          In the last hour  I gave some notes to 8.B students and at 4:00pm we returned home after signing the register.

  • Day 52 - 26th January 2019
       I reached the school at 8:00 am and attended the Republic day Celebration conducted by the school authorities. The flag was hoisted by Suresh Sir and after that Swestha teacher, Sasi Sir, Sumesh Sir and Kayamkulam SI delivered inspiring speeches on the significance of the occasion. The NCC Unit of GBHSS, Kayamkulam and Student Cadet Police Unit of GBHSS, Kayamkulam conducted Parede and after distributing the sweets to everyone present there, the function came to an end. 


 

          After the function, we all went to the college to discuss about our project.

Week - 1 Day 1- 14th November 2018               As a part of 2 year B.Ed curriculum we, the student teachers of KUCTE, Kayamkulam were assigned to do our teaching practice Phase-2 at Govt. Boys High School, Kayamkulam. I reached the school at 9:30 am with other student teachers. The teachers and other staff gave us a warm welcome on our first day. After signing the register we went to the room which was allotted for us. Even though it was Children's Day, there were no activities conducted by the authorities which were a little disappointing for us. As per the timetable, I had two classes to take which were 8th and 9th division. I did take the lessons refraction in 9.B and water , boiling point and evaporation in 8. A . Week - 3 Day 9 - 26th November 2018        We reached the school at 9:30 am and after signing the attendance register took part in the morning assembly conducted by 9th A division. I took two classes today in 8th and 9th division. In 9th standard, I gave lesson notes and in 8th standard, revised the topic which had already taught and cleared their doubts.  As usual we served food to the children and in the afternoon session handled two free hours. At 4:00pm signed the register and returned home.  Day 10 - 27th November 2018      After reaching the school at 9:30 am, signed the register. I didn't had any periods as per the timetable and took care of some classes which were free. We left the school premises at 4:00pm. Day 11 - 28th November 2018       I reached the school a bit late due to a problem occurred in the level cross. After taking permission from the consent authority, I signed the register...

Second Phase Teaching Practice at Govt. Boys High School, Kayamkulam.

Week - 5 Day 20 - 10th December 2018        As usual, I reached the school at 9:30 am along with Lekshmi Sabu and after signing the register went to the room allotted for us. As it was Monday, an assembly was conducted by the leadership of 8th A students. Prayer, pledge, news, quote of the day and thought of the day was presented. An oath-taking as a part of the Human rights day celebration was organized. I did had two classes in the morning session and due to the exam, I revised the topics in the meantime. We served lunch to the children and the classes ended early. We returned home at 3:15pm after signing the attendance register. Day 21 - 11th December 2018    We didn't go to school due to the demise of our friend Stephy Suresh. The consent teachers from our college informed the school authorities about the matter.
